Keep the Prop A Promise!
- Voters approved $300 million
to rebuild Laguna Honda Hospital, not to displace our elderly
who all it home. But that is what is happening.
- Long term care is
no longer the main mission of Laguna Honda Hospital. Frail
elderly and physically disabled San Franciscans requiring long-term
skilled nursing care are being sent out of county to make room
for younger able-bodied people with serious behavioral problems
from S.F. General.
- It is unsafe for these younger
patients to live in the same place with elderly and disabled
patients who are helpless to defend hemselves. Neither
group receives the type of care they deserve when mixed together.
- Prop D will create a Special
Use District at LHH. It will protect our quality long-term
skilled nursing care, current medical specialty programs, and
future assisted living units for elderly, frail and physically
disabled San Franciscans.
